There’s been a lot of talk about the Warriors trading for Anthony Davis, the former Lakers power forward who currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks. A crazy idea, yes, but nobody believed Luka Doncic would go to Los Angeles with LeBron or KD would go to Houston either. However, this proposal has fans thinking about Jimmy Butler, that’s right, Steph Curry’s teammate who could have his future away from Golden State.
Davis hasn’t played since October 29th and, when available, has averaged 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. The medical staff hasn’t cleared him to return, as they believe it could cause a ruptured Achilles tendon, like what happened to Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton. Davis missed his seventh consecutive game when the Mavericks fell to the Suns (114-123) on Wednesday.
Warriors to change Jimmy Butler for Anthony Davis in $110 Million trade
The Golden State Warriors got off to a strong start this season, but have declined in recent weeks, falling to 6-6 and No. 9 in the Western Conference before Wednesday night’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. Perhaps a reorganization could bring Steph Curry closer to a fifth title in his age-37 season. But this would require a $110 million trade:
Following the Dallas Mavericks’ firing of Nico Harrison on Tuesday, CBS Sports’ Sam Quinn believes the ideal reorganization, for both sides, would be for the Warriors to acquire Anthony Davis from the Mavericks. Quinn proposed two ideas: package Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green, plus send Moses Moody and/or Buddy Hield somewhere, potentially a third team, or make a direct trade of AD for Jimmy Butler.

Stephen Curry scores 46 points, closing in on Michael Jordan’s record
Power forward Draymond Green questioned the Golden State Warriors’ commitment to winning after their 24-point loss to the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. The Warriors responded the next day with a 125-120 victory in San Antonio, snapping a six-game road losing streak against the Spurs.

In his second game after missing three straight due to illness, Stephen Curry scored 46 points in the final game of the two-game series, including 22 in a decisive third quarter. He is now one 40-point game away from tying Michael Jordan for the most 40-point games after turning 30. Jimmy Butler III had his best game since the season opener, scoring 28 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
