Anthony Davis‘ 13-year career in the NBA is synonymous with excellence. The Dallas Mavericks forward is a 10-time All-Star.
He’s also a four-time All-NBA First Team selection (2015, 2017, 2018, 2020), and a three-time NBA All-Defensive Team First Team selection (2018, 2020, 2024).
Davis was part of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2020 NBA championship team that featured Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd as an assistant coach. The 2017 NBA All-Star Game MVP and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team has also won two gold medals as a member of the U.S. Olympic Team (2012, 2024).
Despite his greatness, the 6’10 forward’s career has suffered minor and major injuries, which have been the story of his stellar NBA story. When he’s on the court, Davis is one of the most dominant players in the league, but staying healthy has been a big issue for him.
AD freaks out when Mookie Betts gets injured
Anthony Davis recently premiered the TV show “Foul Play with Anthony Davis“, where the NBA superstar would get to prank major celebrities and professional athletes, such as Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts, who was part of the 2024 MLB champions.
Betts bring head coach Dave Roberts to unveil a statue for a pitcher named Fastball Freddie, with AD watching the ceremony through hidden cameras from his vantage point. The original idea was to prank Roberts but Betts decided to prank Davis instead by pretending to get injured as he was preventing the effigy to fall to the ground.
The theatrics got everybody fooled, including Davis, as everyone thought that the eight-time All Star had actually injured his arm just ahead of the MLB preseason and as the Dodgers are looking to compete again for the World Series. AD looks very concerned and devastated until he finds out that it was all a part of a prank.
Anthony Davis wants to make another run with the Mavs
Anthony Davis was selected by New Orleans Pelicans with the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft after one season with the University of Kentucky, where he was named the National College Player of the Year after leading the Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA title.
Ever since then, AD has continued to amaze NBA fans with his impressive dominance on the court as he shows that he’s one of the best centers to ever play in the league. After getting traded from the Lakers to the Mavericks, Davis has a new challenge ahead: win a championship with Dallas.
Davis holds career averages of 24.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals, 2.3 blocks and 34.5 minutes per game in 778 career games (771 starts) with the New Orleans Pelicans and Lakers. In 42 games (all starts) for Los Angeles this season, he averaged 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.1 blocks in 34.3 minutes.
