Another low blow from Cam Ward to Shedeur Sanders; the Cleveland Browns quarterback continues to decline

The great battle several months before the NFL Draft was between quarterbacks Cam Ward from the University of Miami and Shedeur Sanders from the Colorado Buffaloes. However, as time went on, Ward began to distance himself from Sanders and ultimately became the first overall pick in the recent Draft by the Tennessee Titans.

Shedeur Sanders wasn’t just beaten by Cam Ward-he fell all the way to the fifth round. Ward’s case is impressive: he decided to return to the NCAA to play his final year and transferred to the University of Miami after intense quarterback competition in 2023, when he was projected to be a third- or fourth-round pick.

Ward bet on himself, came back, took the risk, and had a phenomenal year at Miami-throwing for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and only 7 interceptions. That was enough, combined with the low quality of this year’s quarterback class, to make him the top prospect and the first overall pick in the Draft.

Cam Ward is impressing in Browns training camps

The new quarterback of the Tennessee Titans has been shining during OTAs and minicamp. Cam Ward has earned the respect of his teammates thanks to his talent and mentality, both on and off the field, and has quickly shown that he can be a standout quarterback in the NFL.

Ward is practically ready for his first NFL training camp, which starts after the second week of July. Titans fans have reason to be excited about their quarterback, according to Bleacher Report writer Damian Parson.

“After completing mandatory minicamp, Cam Ward is showing why he was the first overall pick this year,” Parson wrote. “The Tennessee Titans needed a makeover after the disappointing results of their Will Levis experiment. Enter Ward, a mentally tough and physically gifted passer with a gunslinger’s mentality. Throughout spring and early summer practices, Ward has displayed explosive arm strength, capable of firing tight-window passes at high velocity.”

Reports from the Titans camp suggest that the coaching staff and front office-who went all-in on Ward-are thrilled that he doesn’t look like a rookie.

“… He carries himself like a veteran. From his leadership and raw talent to how quickly he’s adapted to running the offense, everything points to Ward being on the rise”, told Parson.

Let’s not forget that Cam Ward completed his entire NCAA career, with five years at different college football programs, and showed what he was capable of in his final season at the University of Miami.
