Ryne Stanek ended closing the deal after pitching a scoreless ninth inning and the team from New York became the third team of the day to win on the road in the first game of the Wild Card Round.
The Kansas City Royals beat the Orioles in Baltimore 1-0 and the Detroit Tigers won in Houston against the Astros, and after the Mets’ victory in Milwaukee, the Padres will try to win in San Diego against the Atlanta Braves
