Angel Reese is rapidly making her mark both on and off the basketball court. Although known for her dominant performances in the WNBA, the 23-year-old has also been steadily building a powerful presence in the fashion and endorsement world and recently announced a wave of new brands.
She made headlines with the release of her first signature sneaker in collaboration with Reebok and she isn’t done there as she makes a bold move targeting luxury fashion brands that signals her expanding influence.
Her signature Reebok Engine A Pretty Gritty sneaker showcases a fierce mix of Black Cherry and Pink Blast colors, proudly stamped with her personal logo, retailing for $120.
The shoe combines style with high performance, featuring a molded synthetic upper designed for breathability and durability.
“I’m excited to give fans a glimpse into what’s to come in our overall partnership,” Reese said of the Reebok collab. “And we’re still just getting started.”
Shortly after unveiling her sneaker, the forward sent a playful but pointed message to high-end brands like Prada, urging them to expand their sizing for women’s heels as she lines up her next quest in the fashion world.
“Let’s normalize for the heel brands to stop ending at a size 9 and give us them 11s, 12s, and 13s pleaseeeee,” Reese wrote on X.com, formerly known as Twitter in a request to address a longstanding issue many tall women face: the scarcity of fashionable shoes in larger sizes.
Most mainstream women’s shoe collections end at Size Nine or 10, not due to lack of demand but because of inventory and retail space constraints. That leaves people such as Reese at a disadvantage thanks to her height of 6-foot-3-inches tall.
While some specialty retailers like Long Tall Sally and Steve Madden offer extended sizes, the market remains limited.
“I wanna do a tall girl line. It’s hard for me right now, obviously, finding looks, so just being able to… find things and start my own thing for all the tall girls out there,” Reese revealed during the CFDA Awards, continuing her flair for fashion and quest to change the industry.
Fans have eagerly responded to her message but she hasn’t confirmed any plans yet. Watch this space, however, for any updates from the ambitious young woman.
Who do the Chicago Sky play next?
With Reese‘s passion for fashion, it’s sometimes quite easy to forget that her true vocation in life is racking up the points on the basketball court in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky, a venture she’s now into her second professional season of.
Although she’s struggling to reach the same heights as her rookie campaign, she is pushing on and is next in action against the Indiana Fever on Saturday, June 7. Will she lead her team to a win against a Caitlin Clark-less Fever side?
