Angel Reese shows her true colors after a winning streak with Chicago Sky: “We’ve let a lot of games slip out of our hands”

Angel Reese and Chicago Sky don’t seem to have started this season on the wrong foot. They currently have a 5-11 record, and criticism, of course, was quick to follow.

However, the crushing 93-80 defeat they suffered against the Atlanta Dream on June 22 marked a turning point for the team. It was time to put an end to what could have been their fourth consecutive loss. And that’s exactly what they did, stopping the streak at three.

Since then, Reese has managed to smile and make Chicago fans smile after important victories, including last Sunday’s.

There, she faced the Los Angeles Sparks and achieved her best score of the season with 24 points. She also added 16 rebounds, extending her streak of four games with more than 15 rebounds. The game ended 92-85.

Reese’s reaction

Now, with a little perspective and thinking about her next game, the Chicago star was asked for her opinion on this matchup. True to form, Reese responded to reporters by saying:

“Since that Atlanta game, you can see a different curve from us,” Angel began her analysis. “You can see the intensity, you can see how much energy, the approach to the game. I think everybody’s just coming out hard and wanting to win.”

Despite this, he was also realistic and said they have to keep working to finally get the results they want:

We’ve let a lot of games slip out of our hands, and we’re tired of it. I mean, you either just sit with it or you get tired of it and boss up and wanna play harder.

The truth is that with approximately half of the regular season ahead, Chicago has shown that it can put up a fight. However, they are currently in fifth place in the WNBA Eastern Conference, so they will need another important victory on Sunday against the Minnesota Lynx to continue climbing.
