The Chicago Sky are ready to shine in a new WNBA season. With a team full of talent and determination, the Sky are looking to make their mark on the league this year. Under the leadership of their coach and with key players ready to shine, such as Angel Reese, the face of the franchise, fans can expect exciting games and a commitment to intensity from the players.

This time around, the Windy City team prepared for the championship with an exhibition game against the Brazilian national team.

The Chicago Sky burst onto the scene with a bang in their debut, marking the beginning of an electrifying era under Tyler Marsh. From the opening seconds, the Sky took control of the court with an overwhelming pace that left their opponents speechless.

Angel Reese was an unstoppable force, dominating in just 17 minutes with a spectacular double-double: 15 points and 10 rim-rattling rebounds. Meanwhile, Hailey Van Lith dazzled with her versatility, contributing 7 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds, proving that she is ready to shine.

The game was a display of power, as Chicago crushed their opponent with a resounding 89-62 victory. This was not just a win, it was a statement to the rest of the league: the Sky are here to rule. The WNBA better watch out, because Chicago is here to stay.

Angel Reese impressed by Hailey Van Lith

With the win in hand, Reese was asked by reporters about the performance of former LSU standout Hailey.

“Yeah, I mean confidence. To be able to go out there and see her shine makes me so happy for her. Her confidence has grown so much and to see the player that she is now and how she continues to grow. I’m so proud of Hailey and I know she’s going to get better every day,” Reese said.

That won’t be all we see of the two as the WNBA gets underway, as the Chicago Sky continue to prepare for the start of the new season. They will face the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, May 6, and will need to be at their best as they make their debut against Caitlin Clark‘s Indiana Fever in a game that will steal the spotlight and kick off the league.
