Angel Reese poses for stunning car selfie ahead of sophomore WNBA season

Angel Reese‘s 2024 season was nothing short of transformative. From a dominant finish to her college career at LSU to a high-profile start in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky, Reese didn’t just step into the pros.

After being drafted near the top of the 2024 WNBA Draft, Reese quickly made a name for herself as one of the league’s top rookies. Her fierce rebounding, interior presence, and relentless motor helped her rack up double-doubles at a historic pace, putting her in elite company.

The effort didn’t go unnoticed, as she was named a WNBA All-Star as a rookie, joining fellow first-year sensation Caitlin Clark in the starting lineup.

Reese‘s influence wasn’t limited to the basketball court. Off the hardwood, she became a cultural icon, landing endorsements with powerhouse brands such as Reebok and McDonald’s while building a social media presence that made her one of the most recognizable athletes in the league.

Her viral selfies and brand partnerships brought fresh eyes to the WNBA and helped usher in a new generation of fans. Reese‘s latest selfie in the car went quickly viral on social media.

A new season begins with a rivalry and a new-look Chicago roster

The 2025 WNBA season will begin with a marquee matchup between the Sky and the Indiana Fever, pitting Reese against Clark in what’s becoming one of the league’s must-watch rivalries. Their clashes last season were some of the most competitive and talked-about games, and the league is wasting no time renewing the heat by kicking off the season with a rematch.

Anticipating high demand, the Sky have moved their home games against the Fever to the United Center-home of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls-to accommodate the massive interest.

With Clark‘s popularity and Reese‘s growing fanbase, the Sky are hoping to challenge the WNBA’s attendance record, which the Washington Mystics set last September when over 20,000 fans packed Capital One Arena to see the Fever.

But while the spotlight remains bright on Reese, the Sky roster around her has seen big changes. Head coach Teresa Weatherspoon is no longer with the team, and key players Chennedy Carter and Isabelle Harrison have also moved on. In response, Chicago reloaded with experienced talent, signing veterans Courtney Vandersloot and Kia Nurse to bolster their lineup.
