It was supposed to be Angel Reese‘s night. The Chicago Sky rookie posted yet another double-double in her young WNBA career, but the buzz in the building wasn’t just about basketball.
At Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, three former members of Fifth Harmony reunited courtside-and quickly stole the show.
Fifth Harmony reunion dominates social media during Sparks’ win
Fans of the early 2010s pop era were treated to a surprise when Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui appeared together in matching black leather jackets at Sunday’s Sparks-Sky matchup.
The trio, who were part of the chart-topping girl group Fifth Harmony, haven’t made many public appearances together since the group disbanded in 2018. Their courtside reunion prompted a wave of nostalgia and excitement online.
“i will sob they are my whole childhood,” one fan posted on X. Another added, “Okay mini Fifth Harmony reunion, we love to see it!” The buzz was so strong, it nearly eclipsed the game itself.
On the court, the Los Angeles Sparks broke a three-game skid with a convincing 91-78 victory. Kelsey Plum led all scorers with 28 points and eight assists, hitting six shots from beyond the arc. Azurá Stevens added 24 points and eight rebounds, while Dearica Hamby filled the stat sheet with 10 points, six boards, eight assists and six steals. Odyssey Sims and rookie Sarah Ashlee Barker combined for 21 points off the bench.
Despite the loss, Angel Reese continued to impress for the Sky, recording 13 points and 12 rebounds. She was supported by Kamilla Cardoso (12 points), Courtney Vandersloot and Rebecca Allen, who each scored 11.
Although the reunion didn’t include Camila Cabello or Normani, the presence of Brooke, Jane, and Jauregui delighted longtime fans. “BIGGEST GIRL GROUP OF THE 2010s IKTR,” one fan declared.
While there’s no sign of a musical comeback, all five former members are actively pursuing solo projects-with new music dropping from nearly all of them in the past year.
Angel Reese and the Sky will now look to bounce back as they continue their road trip. But on this night in L.A., the biggest crossover wasn’t on the court-it was pop and sports colliding under the spotlight.
