Angel Reese just dropped a bombshell and WNBA fans are freaking out

Angel Reese is living a dream moment. This Tuesday, the Chicago Sky star revealed for the first time her new exclusive sneakers with Reebok: the Angel Reese 1. And as expected, the internet exploded with the announcement.

Photos of the model, which will go on sale in 2026, show white sneakers with a clean, elegant design made for high performance. But beyond the look, what really moved fans was the message that came with the announcement: a powerful statement about dreams, hard work, and representation.

Reese wants to leave her mark with her sneakers

“A kid from Baltimore, making her dreams come true,” wrote Reese, referencing her roots, but also how she has turned her personal story into a source of inspiration for thousands of young people.

“The brightest diamonds need pressure, polishing, and time,” she added. And that’s no coincidence. The collaboration with Reebok is more than a contract-it’s part of a narrative where the brand-now led by Shaquille O’Neal in its basketball division-is looking to amplify authentic and disruptive voices like Angel’s.

A very exclusive club in the WNBA… and Reese is now part of it

With this announcement, Angel Reese joins a very short list of active WNBA players who have their own signature sneaker. Only Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Caitlin Clark, and A’ja Wilson have achieved that before.

And when we talk about pioneers, it’s impossible not to mention Sheryl Swoopes, who launched her own pair in 1995. Today, almost 30 years later, Reese picks up that legacy and takes it a step further, showing that the WNBA is living a historic moment.

Angel Reese will be on the cover of NBA 2K26

As if that wasn’t enough, on the same day as the sneaker reveal, Reese was introduced as the new face of the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26. Yes, the same edition that has featured legends like Candace Parker, Diana Taurasi, and Sue Bird.

“Being on the cover and launching my own sneakers at the same time isn’t just a personal achievement. It’s a clear message for all the girls coming after me: you can be bold, authentic, and take up any space,” Angel said with excitement.

Angel Reese is a symbol of a new era

What Angel Reese is doing goes far beyond points, rebounds, or three-pointers. She’s becoming a symbol of empowerment, representation, and change in women’s sports.

“Being part of NBA 2K history is special, but even more so because of what it means for all the women who paved the way before me,” she said. And she’s right-her story is just beginning, but it’s already shaping the path for an entire generation.
