Angel Reese is a bully and a champion, that’s what makes her better than Caitlin Clark

The rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has taken the WNBA to a level most didn’t imagine was possible. and both are now the faces of the league. The Fever’s guard takes on the superhero role, while the Sky’s forward steps into the role of the main villain.

Clark appears in most of the league’s highlight reels, with incredible three-pointers from way downtown. Reese may not have as many flashy plays, but she can completely dominate games with her double-doubles and rebounding.

Chicago’s star holds multiple records, including:

  • 13.1 rebounds per game in 2024, WNBA single-season record
  • 446 rebounds in 34 games in 2024, WNBA single-season record
  • First player in WNBA history to record 20 or more rebounds in consecutive games, doing it in three straight games
  • 26 double-doubles in 2024, second most in a season in WNBA history

She also has the edge in the most important stat: she led the LSU Tigers to their first ever NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship in 2023. In that final, she defeated, you guessed it, Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes.

This season, the Indiana Fever won the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup title (the in-season tournament), but Clark didn’t play in the final, meaning she still hasn’t won a national tournament final.

Reese over Clark, for Ex-Lakers star

Former Lakers star Cedric Ceballos compared the rivalry to Magic and Bird’s, citing the impact it has had on fans. “It’s white, it’s black, it’s this, it’s that, it’s cornbread, it’s city guy. I mean, I can go on and on and on,” Ceballos said on Byron Scott’s Fast Break.

“Caitlin is straightforward. Obviously, the range is bananas, her skills are bananas,” Ceballos added. “And Reese is a bully, she wanna hit somebody … And it’s amazing how the things that Caitlin has done and wasn’t criticized for and then Reese goes and rings her and she is criticized.”

“I’m a winner, I want a winner. You guys ask me my biggest accolades, were those who won. The best person to come out of Fullerton. Two individuals who got rings and gold medals, winning is everything,” he said.

To conclude his thoughts on Reese and Clark, Cedric clearly prefers the Chicago star because she’s a proven winner. “I wouldn’t give [Clark] that because she hasn’t won anything. I would give Reese the nod because she won a national championship”.
