Even during the WNBA offseason, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese continues to make headlines, this time for her impact off the court. While many players use the break to rest and train, Reese has remained active in the community, reinforcing her growing reputation as not only one of the league’s brightest young stars but also one of its most socially engaged leaders.

Reese’s rise in the WNBA has been nothing short of remarkable. Selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she quickly established herself as a cornerstone of the Sky franchise. In just two seasons, Reese became a two-time All-Star and one of the most dominant rebounders in the league, earning a reputation as a nightly double-double threat.

Her production speaks for itself. Reese set a new WNBA record by recording 15 consecutive double-doubles during her rookie season, surpassing the previous mark held by Candace Parker.

She also owns the record for most double-doubles in a player’s first two seasons (49), breaking Tina Charles’ long-standing record. Through the early part of her career, Reese has averaged 14.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, elite numbers that place her firmly among the league’s top frontcourt players.

Angel Reese Foundation continues to make an impact

While Reese’s on-court accomplishments have earned her national attention, her work away from basketball has been just as meaningful. Through the Angel C. Reese Foundation, the Sky Forward has prioritized giving back to underserved communities, particularly young girls.

According to the foundation’s mission, its primary goal is to create equal opportunities for girls in sports, education, financial literacy, and other areas where access has historically been limited. That mission has translated into action across Chicago and beyond.

In recent months, the foundation hosted a back-to-school event, distributing free backpacks and supplies to children in need. Reese has also launched the “Mebounds” merchandise initiative, with proceeds dedicated to combating cyberbullying and promoting mental health awareness among youth.

The foundation’s latest effort came through its support of the 53 Families Foundation Holiday Toy Drive, where Reese’s organization played a major role in ensuring the event’s success. The Angel C. Reese Foundation was recognized as the top donor for the initiative, helping cover all toy needs for families during the holiday season.

A huge thank you to the Angel C. Reese Foundation for being our biggest donor.”…. “Your generosity ensured that our toy needs are fully covered.

Balancing stardom, business, and service

Beyond basketball and philanthropy, Reese continues to expand her brand. She has stepped into fashion and entertainment, works as a model and actress, hosts her own podcast, and has become a business owner and investor-all while maintaining her commitment to community service.

Despite a packed schedule, Reese has shown she is determined to use her platform for more than personal success. As the WNBA offseason continues, her actions reflect a broader legacy in the making, one defined not just by rebounds and records but by leadership, generosity, and impact that extends far beyond the hardwood.
