Angel Reese fires back at misrepresentative viral post

Angel Reese isn’t one to stay silent when misinformation spreads, and she made that clear after a viral post on X inaccurately described her college career.

The Chicago Sky forward, who remains one of the most talked-about figures in women’s basketball, pushed back against claims that misrepresented the timeline of her injury at Maryland.

A fan account recently shared highlights of Reese‘s time with the Terrapins, with the caption: “I’m jealous of people that got to witness this (Maryland) era of my GOAT in real time.”

The video itself contained an embedded message claiming the footage was from “before her injury.” Reese quickly noticed the post and wasted no time correcting the false narrative.

The WNBA star took to social media to clarify that the video was not from before her injury, urging people to do their research before making claims.

“Y’all literally don’t do y’all research,” Reese wrote. “This wasn’t before my injury so stop with the narrative lmfaoo.”

Reese‘s injury history at Maryland is well documented. As a freshman, she suffered a Jones fracture in her foot after landing awkwardly during a game, requiring surgery that sidelined her for much of the season.

Later, she also sustained a shin fracture, leading to another surgery. These setbacks limited her to just 15 games in her first year, during which she still managed to average 10.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.

Despite the challenges, Reese returned stronger in her sophomore year. She played in 32 games, starting 31, and significantly improved her stats, averaging 17.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. Her resilience and determination set the foundation for her future success at LSU and in the WNBA.

Staying in the Spotlight On and Off the Court

Even during the offseason, Reese remains a prominent figure in women’s basketball. She has been competing in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 championship alongside stars like Breanna Stewart and Brittney Griner. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark, another highly regarded name in the sport, opted not to participate.

Beyond her play, Reese continues to expand her influence, whether through fashion, business ventures, or her strong social media presence. She has always been vocal about controlling her own narrative, and this latest interaction proves she’s not afraid to challenge misinformation.

As she prepares for another WNBA season, Reese‘s focus remains on success-both on and off the court. And if there’s one thing fans can count on, it’s that she won’t let false narratives go unchecked.
