Angel Reese expands off-court portfolio by joining ownership group including stars Sue Bird and Alex Morgan

Angel Reese, forward for the Chicago Sky, has joined the athlete-driven media and commerce company TOGETHXR as part of its ownership group.

The move places the 23-year-old alongside co-founders Sue Bird, Alex Morgan, Simone Manuel, and Chloe Kim, as well as recent additions including golf champion Michelle Wie West.

Founded in 2021, TOGETHXR was created to highlight and expand the visibility of women in sport. The company’s strategy combines original storytelling, advocacy, and branded products under its widely recognized slogan, “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports.”

In just a few years, it has positioned itself as a leading platform within the women’s sports movement, driving both cultural influence and commercial growth.

Building influence beyond the court

Reese described her entry into the group as an opportunity to collaborate with women who have not only excelled athletically but also broken barriers in business and media.

She emphasized that her role is not about replacing the work already established by TOGETHXR’s founders but about contributing new ideas and perspectives to strengthen its mission.

The company has recently expanded its partnerships to broaden visibility. Earlier this year, it launched jersey collaborations with Nike and secured a deal with the London City Lionesses, a professional women’s soccer team in England.

These moves reflect TOGETHXR’s commitment to merging sport with culture and consumer engagement. The appointment of longtime media executive Nancy Dubuc as Executive Chair in 2025 underscored its ambition to scale further, with reported revenues surpassing $30 million and merchandise sales exceeding $6m in 2024.

For Reese, joining TOGETHXR represents both a personal and professional milestone. She will also be the face of a limited-edition unisex jersey produced under the company’s label, linking her athletic identity with its growing retail presence.

Reese faces tests in her WNBA career

Reese’s involvement comes at a complicated stage in her basketball career.

Since being selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she has delivered strong individual performances, averaging close to a double-double through her first 64 professional games and securing two All-Star appearances.

Off the court, she has quickly become one of the league’s most marketable players, ranking near the top of merchandise sales in her rookie year.

However, team success has been harder to achieve. The Sky concluded Reese’s debut season with a 13-27 record and have struggled again in 2025, registering only 10 victories to date.

Frustrations reached a peak when Reese voiced uncertainty about her long-term future with the franchise, comments she later retracted after a team win against Connecticut.

Despite these challenges, her profile continues to grow. By aligning with TOGETHXR, Reese demonstrates a commitment to shaping the broader landscape of women’s sports while still at the beginning of her professional playing career. The partnership adds to her influence beyond basketball, situating her as both a competitor and a stakeholder in the industry’s future.

Reese’s decision to join TOGETHXR reinforces the collective’s strategy of uniting established champions with emerging voices. For the company, it means welcoming a new generation of leadership and for Reese, it provides an early platform to impact women’s sports.
