Angel Reese was front and center in Indianapolis last weekend, using the All-Star stage to send a powerful message: WNBA players want fair pay, and they want it now.

The energy in the arena was electric, but off the court, talk quickly turned to business. The league is booming, audiences are bigger, and players know their worth.

There’s never been a better time for change. With Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations underway, commissioner Cathy Engelbert is in regular discussions with the league’s best.

Amid these high-stakes talks, Reese is refusing to back down.

Reese puts revenue sharing at the heart of new WNBA deal

During an appearance on NBA on ESPN, the Chicago Sky forward made her demands clear. “The team revenue… revenue shares. That’s really important for us. We deserve it. I know we’re not letting up, we’re gonna do whatever it takes to get what we deserve,” she said.

Reese isn’t just looking out for herself. She’s fighting for everyone in the league.

“I’m just gonna continue to educate myself on what’s going on and staying involved. I know my voice, I know my platform. When I speak people are listening,” Reese told ESPN.

The popularity of the WNBA has exploded in 2024. Much of that comes from stars like Reese and Indiana’s Caitlin Clark, who have drawn new fans and national attention.

But Reese is quick to point out this isn’t just about her or Clark. It’s about Paige Bueckers, Sophie Cunningham, Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and every player grinding week after week.

WNBA games have become headline events. Rivalries are heating up, and more eyes are on the league than ever before.

Now, as negotiations intensify, Angel Reese is determined to make sure fair compensation is finally part of the league’s future. With her voice leading the charge, the WNBA could be on the verge of historic change.
