Professional athletes, at least high-profile ones, need to know how to market themselves if they want to stay in the public eye long after their playing careers are over. Angel Reese is fully aware of that, so she has created and maintained a larger-than-life name brand just as her WNBA career started.
While making the All-Star Game as a rookie, she also launched her own podcast. She’s extremely active on social media and has done collaborations with several brands already. Reese even came out this week to say she will continue to be very active in side ventures due to the money it brings in, which is way more than what the WNBA pays her. With money and image on her mind, Reese has now announced she will do something no other professional athlete ever has.

On October 15, Reese will walk the runway for the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show taking place in New York City. Reese will be the first pro athlete to do so.
It’s a monumental moment for Reese and the WNBA, as being first to do anything is always a good thing, especially if it’s aligned with a notorious brand like Victoria’s Secret.
Reese being invited to the show goes to show how much sway her brand name and public image has. She may have haters when it comes to her basketball game, but there can be no criticizing her off-court marketing plays.
