Angel Reese is not forgetting where she came from and has been cheering on her old teammates at Louisiana State University.
The Chicago Sky star watched the LSU Tigers move into the Elite Eight after beating NC State Wolfpack, and she shared some thoughts on social media afterwards too.
It was an 80-73 win for the Tigers, their third win in the NCAA Tournament. Reese took to social media after the win and simply wrote: “Oh & that win was personal.THANK YA.”
Adding to her own message, Reese then said ‘LET’S DANCE’ as she is clearly loving the Tigers’ March Madness run.
As for why that particular win is personal, Reese is presumably referencing the fact that last February, Wolfpack head coach Wes Moore took a photo with a fan holding a sign that said ‘Angel Reese stinks’.
That sort of behavior from a coach is clearly embarrassing and Reese has not forgotten it.
During her collegiate career, spending two seasons at LSU and two seasons at Maryland, Reese averaged 18.6 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Constant issues for Reese
Former NBA coach Stan van Gundy was recently commentating on a game that Angel was present at because her little brother was playing.
Van Gundy sarcastically stated that he needed to see Reese “calm down” because she showed too much emotion.
The Angel Reese comment upset people, and his overall broadcasting skills struck a nerve with fans.
“Stan van Gundy is awful,” one fan said.
Julian Reese, a key player for the Maryland Terrapins, put up a strong effort against the Florida Gators, contributing 12 points and eight rebounds. However, Maryland fell short, losing 87-71 and ending their tournament run.
