At the start of the inaugural Unrivaled season, Angel Reese and Rose BC found themselves struggling with a 1-4 record, leaving many to doubt their chances of playoff contention.
However, nearly seven weeks later, the team has completely turned their season around, proving their strength and resilience.
On Monday, Rose BC secured their seventh victory of the season with a hard-fought 58-53 win over Laces BC. Reese continued to dominate the game, finishing with an impressive double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds, alongside four assists, one steal, and one block.
Her standout performance was crucial in clinching the victory and ensuring Rose BC’s place in the Unrivaled playoffs.
Reese wants to carry on in the competition
With the win, Rose BC now boasts a 7-5 record, locking them into the fourth and final playoff spot. The team is two games ahead of the 3rd to 5th ranked teams, and with only two regular season games remaining, they are guaranteed not to fall out of playoff contention.
The Unrivaled league confirmed Rose BC’s playoff berth with an announcement on social media.
“ROSE BC HAVE CLINCHED A SPOT IN THE UNRIVALED PLAYOFFS.”
A subsequent post from the league read, “Your fav buds are going to the playoffs.”
Reese took to social media to celebrate the milestone, sharing the announcement on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “#needdat,” a nod to her team’s hard-earned achievement.
As the regular season wraps up on March 10, the team is now focused on the upcoming playoffs, which will begin on March 16. While Rose BC’s opponent remains undecided, Reese and her teammates are ready for the challenge ahead, having fought their way from the bottom to playoff contention in remarkable fashion.
