Angel Reese breaks silence with bold message ahead of WNBA season

As the new WNBA season approaches, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is once again making headlines, this time, off the court.

Known for her unapologetic confidence and strong presence on social media, the second-year pro sent a clear message to her critics this week, reminding them that their opinions have no place in her journey.

Reese just snapped back online

Reese, a standout in last year’s rookie class with a league-best 13.1 rebounds per game, is no stranger to controversy.

Since her high-profile clash with Caitlin Clark during the 2023 NCAA Tournament, she’s carried a polarizing reputation into the WNBA.

But rather than shy away from the attention, Reese continues to meet it head-on-using her platforms to speak out about everything from pay equity in the league to public perception.

In a post on X, Reese shared a pointed reminder to her followers about personal boundaries and self-focus:

“y’all be feeling too entitled thinking y’all opinions matter about somebody else life instead of minding your own business. i promise you win at life when you just live your OWN life and mind your OWN business. I PROMISE.”

The comment quickly sparked praise from her fans, many of whom supported her firm stance and applauded her for confronting criticism directly.

Replies flooded in with messages like, “Best revenge is that paper sis,” and “They don’t have no lives that’s why they’re too invested in other people lives.”

Reese continues to be one of the WNBA’s most followed and talked-about athletes, boasting 4.8 million Instagram followers, more than any other player, including Caitlin Clark.

With her own podcast, Unapologetically Angel, she often reflects on how the public view of her doesn’t always match her real-life persona.

“The funniest thing people say to me in person is ‘Wow you’re so nice in person. It’s crazy the way they portray you online,'” she recently shared.

“I just laugh and say ‘yeah.'”

With the Sky’s season opener against Indiana on May 17, one of five regular-season matchups against Clark’s Fever, Reese looks poised to keep proving her value both on and off the hardwood.

As she prepares to lead a revamped Chicago roster, one thing’s certain: Angel Reese isn’t backing down from anyone.
