Angel Reese brags about latest performance and sends a message to her critics: ‘We have a chip on our shoulder’

Angel Reese has never shied away from high expectations. After an impressive collegiate career at the University of Maryland and a national championship-winning season with LSU, she entered the WNBA with the weight of immense anticipation.

Now, as she showcases her skills in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league, Reese is proving why she belongs at the top, helping Rose BC defy preseason predictions.

Ranked last before the competition began, Rose BC has shocked fans and analysts alike by climbing to second place with a 6-4 record. Reese, never one to back down from criticism, took a moment to acknowledge the doubts while reaffirming her confidence in her team.

After yet another standout performance, Reese sent a clear message to those who underestimated her and her teammates.

“We have a chip on our shoulder right now. Five-game winning streak, we keep going. They ranked us at the bottom. We was [sic] the last team. Nobody believed in us, and we believed in each other in that locker room. So, we just keep working, and the work shows,” Reese declared.

Beyond team success, Reese also highlighted her personal commitment to improvement, showing her determination to elevate her game.

“I’m just trying to get better every single day. First one in the gym, last one to leave the gym. I just want to put in the work every day because I don’t ever want to feel like I’m out of work. The work gonna show, and I’m excited to get back to Chicago. Go Sky!” she added.

The ongoing comparisons with Caitlin Clark

Despite her achievements, Reese continues to be compared to fellow rookie Caitlin Clark, whose offensive prowess has captured widespread attention.

While the two young stars are often mentioned in the same breath, Reese has a new opportunity to establish herself as a dominant force with the Chicago Sky, especially following the team’s recent acquisition of Ariel Atkins.

Atkins, a veteran guard with championship experience, is expected to bolster the Sky’s defense and provide valuable leadership. Her presence could allow Reese to focus more on refining her offensive skills while also giving Chicago a strong counter to Clark and the Indiana Fever.

Clark, known for her deep shooting range and playmaking ability, presents a significant challenge for opposing teams. Atkins, one of the WNBA’s top defensive players, will play a key role in containing Clark’s impact.

If the Sky can use their defensive assets effectively, Reese may have the opportunity to showcase her versatility and step further into the spotlight.

As the WNBA season progresses, Reese continues to rise to the occasion, proving that she thrives under pressure. Whether in the Unrivaled league or the WNBA, she is determined to make her mark and show that she and her team should never be counted out.
