Andy Reid makes Patrick Mahomes happy with positive news ahead of Broncos clash

Andy Reid has been the architect of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ continued success, guiding the team to multiple championships and keeping them in the Super Bowl conversation year after year.

With Patrick Mahomes leading the offense and Travis Kelce as his go-to target, Kansas City has built a dynasty that shows no signs of slowing down.

Ahead of their Week 11 matchup with the Denver Broncos, Reid shared a much-needed update that will no doubt please Mahomes and his offensive unit.

Rookie offensive tackle Josh Simmons has rejoined the team after missing several games and could suit up for the first time in over a month.

“He’ll jump in and see what he can do and mix it up out there,” Reid said. “I just want to see him back in there… I’m glad he’s back and can get going. Let’s see how he is… I’m sure he’s going to be OK, but we’ll see.”

Chiefs gain depth with Simmons’ expected return

A first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Josh Simmons was brought in to bolster Kansas City’s offensive line and protect its franchise quarterback.

His rookie campaign, however, has been disrupted after missing four consecutive games. The team cited a “personal matter” as the reason for his absence but did not share additional details.

His return comes at a critical point in the season, especially as Mahomes continues to navigate challenges within the offense. The Chiefs have faced uncertainty at running back with Isiah Pacheco missing recent practices, putting more pressure on the passing game.

Despite the setbacks, Mahomes has remained productive, totaling 17 touchdown passes, 2,349 yards, and a 64.6% completion rate this season.

With Simmons back in the mix, Kansas City’s offensive line looks stronger and better equipped to protect their star quarterback as they aim to maintain their dominance in the AFC.
