Andrew Tate’s 5-word jab at Crawford before Canelo fight

For boxing fans, things just got a little spicier in the lead-up to the Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez showdown. Andrew Tate, the controversial internet personality and ex-kickboxer, dropped a bombshell, throwing a verbal jab at Crawford with a five-word zinger: “Hard to bet against Canelo.” Yes, just months before Crawford’s hyped September clash with the Mexican superstar, Tate’s weighing in-and he’s not pulling punches.

Tate spilled his take in a quick chat with FightHype.com during New York’s Fatal Fury press conference buzz, where he was soaking up the boxing vibes. With Crawford set to face Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas, Tate’s keeping it short and sharp, siding with the 62-2-2 champ who’s toppled undefeated foes like Caleb Plant and Gennady Golovkin.

“Hard to bet against Canelo,” he said, per EssentiallySports, oozing confidence in Alvarez’s knack for handling big nights. It’s a stinging reality check for Crawford fans, especially since “Bud” is climbing two weight classes to take on the super middleweight king.

Crawford’s no slouch-his 41-0 record, including 31 KOs, speaks volumes. Fresh off a gritty win over Israil Madrimov in August 2024, he’s been training hard, posting on Instagram, “Feels good to be back in the gym,” with clips of his lightning-fast hands. At 37, he’s bulking up to 186 pounds for this Riyadh Season spectacle, a fight Canelo himself called “one of the biggest in boxing history” in an ESPN interview. But Tate’s five-word slap isn’t about disrespect-it’s a nod to Canelo’s proven edge against top-tier talent, something Crawford’s still chasing at this weight.

Canelo Alvarez gets Tate’s vote in Crawford fight hype

The boxing world’s split down the middle. Some fans on X are hyping Crawford’s speed and smarts, arguing he could outmaneuver Canelo’s power. Others, like Tate, see Alvarez’s size and experience as too much to handle. “Canelo’s a beast at 168,” one user posted, echoing Tate’s vibe.

Crawford’s not fazed, though-he told Cigar Talk, “I’m moving up three weight classes… fighting one of the best Mexicans ever,” showing he’s all in for the challenge. Tate’s jab just adds fuel to the fire of this already electric debate.

With the Allegiant Stadium showdown looming, Tate’s words are ringing loud. Will Crawford prove him wrong and shock the world, or is Canelo’s legacy too tough a wall to crack? This verbal sparring’s only the appetizer.
