Aliyah Boston sends a message to Audi Crooks amid her incredible season

From her college days to her role with the Indiana Fever alongside Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston has seen the difference between a good stretch and something genuinely special. That context matters when she decides to single out a player.

This week, Boston made it clear that Audi Crooks of Iowa State belongs firmly in the latter category.

On Wednesday’s episode of the Post Moves podcast, which Boston co-hosts with Candace Parker, Crooks was selected for the show’s “You Got This” honor.

The weekly recognition is reserved for players who rise under pressure, maximize their opportunities, or inspire through consistent excellence. In Boston‘s view, Crooks checked every box without hesitation.

“Audi has been off the chain,” Boston said. “Last week, she dropped 30 points and helped Iowa State beat Iowa, a state rival, and she was crushing it. I mean, this is her 78th consecutive game reaching double figures. That is insanity.”

That streak alone places Crooks in rare territory. Very few players at any level sustain that level of nightly production, let alone against the defensive attention that comes with being the focal point of an offense. But the numbers only scratch the surface of how dominant her recent run has been.

Over the past several games, Crooks joined Brittney Griner as the only Division I players since 2000 to post three straight games of at least 30 points while shooting 65 percent or better from the field.

That blend of scoring volume and efficiency is almost unheard of, particularly for a post player who faces constant double-teams.

Right now, Crooks leads the nation in scoring at 27.8 points per game. Those points are not coming from forcing shots or taking advantage of the occasional mismatch. They arrive consistently, regardless of opponent, game plan, or defensive coverage.

What makes Crooks difficult to guard night after night

For Boston, the real separator goes beyond box scores and streaks. She emphasized that Crooks‘ impact shows up in the details of how she plays.

“I don’t know if that’s even enough to even talk about Audi Crooks’ impact,” Boston said. “Like, the way she’s on the floor, the way she gets her positioning, she has little fadeaways, she’s doing her turnaround jumpers. I mean, she’s making it hard on these teams.

“She had to get my vote this week because she is killing it. Audi, we are proud of you, and we’re always cheering for you.”

Coming from a former national champion and WNBA star, that endorsement carries weight. And as Crooks continues to dominate, it’s becoming increasingly clear that this run isn’t just a hot streak – it’s something genuinely special.
