Aliyah Boston reveals the true face of Caitlin Clark at Indiana Fever

It seems unbelievable, but a simple comment from Caitlin Clark on Instagram fired up Indiana Fever fans: “I’m so proud of you,” she wrote on a post by Aliyah Boston. That brief yet meaningful message reflected the connection both players have built, on and off the court.

Boston, who averages 15.2 points per game and keeps the Fever with a winning record (21-20), is determined to lead the team to the playoffs. However, beyond the stats, what stands out most is the friendship she shares with Clark-a bond that has sparked conversation across the WNBA.

Aliyah Boston talks about Caitlin

On the podcast Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston, the former WNBA star put Boston on the spot by recalling two unforgettable moments with Clark.

The first was during a game where Boston was seen holding her teammate back as she looked ready to confront a referee.

She’s a troll… look at her, she can’t help it. She’s actually the biggest troll. I think it’s funny

The second memory was from the viral 72-hour Twitch stream by Stud Budz, when Boston took Clark’s drink mid-stream, causing laughter among everyone present.

Boston and Clark’s hug ritual

The relationship between Boston and Clark goes beyond jokes. They’ve also created a ritual that has become an essential part of their preparation: the pre-game hug.

“It all started one day when we hugged and she told me, ‘You’re going to be amazing because you are amazing.’ I said the same back to her, and we haven’t stopped doing it since,” Boston explained in an earlier episode of the podcast.

Even when Clark has been out due to injury, Boston has insisted on keeping that gesture of trust, showing how much it means to both of them.

Caitlin Clark and the challenge of injuries

Clark’s season hasn’t been easy. The guard has missed 28 games, including the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup, which the Fever won against the Minnesota Lynx. Before her absence, she was posting impactful numbers: 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5 rebounds per game.

Coach Stephanie White gave an optimistic update to IndyStar, noting that Clark is already doing non-contact workouts and could return before the end of the regular season: “She’s working as hard as she can. The most important thing is her long-term health and well-being.”

Indiana Fever keeps growing

While Clark continues her recovery, Aliyah Boston has taken charge of the team and established herself as Indiana’s leader.

With the playoffs in sight, the Fever aim to finish the season strong, and their next big challenge will be on September 5 against the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. With Boston’s energy, Clark’s imminent return, and a chemistry that transcends the court, Indiana Fever has become one of the most exciting teams to follow in the 2025 WNBA.
