The Indiana Fever has managed to bounce back from the injuries and absences that have plagued the team. Without Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, and Sydney Colson for the rest of the season, and awaiting the return of Caitlin Clark and Chloe Bibby, the team has remained standing.

They continue to fight for a spot in the playoffs and move forward under the guidance of great leaders who are already a fundamental pillar of the team. And, in the meantime, they take the time to continue breaking records.

Boston and Mitchell, friends who break records

Without a doubt, one of the most important pieces of the team’s success has been Aliyah Boston. Both defensively and offensively, the three-time All-Star has been able to organize Indiana. Another player who has stood out and is of great importance has been Kelsey Mitchell, who has added valuable points for the team.

After the game against the Seattle Storm, they not only earned a much-needed 95-75 victory to improve their record to 20-18, but also achieved great individual records.

Boston led the team to victory, scoring 27 points in 27 minutes and establishing herself as the top scorer of the night. She also added nine rebounds and three assists to complete her performance, and became the youngest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career rebounds.

This record did not go unnoticed by the team, who celebrated the achievement on their official Instagram account: “1K. Congrats to Aliyah Boston on becoming the fastest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career rebounds.”

And Mitchell is not far behind. In 30 minutes of action, she added 21 points to the win, establishing herself as the player with the most points in a season in Indiana Fever history with 770 points.

“Our MVP Kelsey Mitchell has set the new single season scoring record with 770 points & counting,” the team also shared on its official Instagram account.

Following the announcement, Aliyah shared this post on her Stories and added “Goat talk.”

At the same time, Mitchell shared the team’s post about Boston and wrote “my BIG baby! DESERVED, earned…@aliyah.boston.”

“Thank you Kels,” Aliyah replied in another story, along with a red heart emoji.

This sweet interaction highlights their mutual admiration but also their friendship, which has transcended the court.

Now, the Indiana Fever is preparing to travel and face the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, the 29th, at Crypto.com Arena.
