Alex Rodriguez’s confident prediction for the 2025 World Series: Who is he picking to win it all?

As the MLB All-Star Game wrapped up at Truist Park in Atlanta, baseball analysts on the Fox Sports panel, including legends Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and Alex Rodriguez, were quick to make their bold predictions for the 2025 World Series.

With the second half of the season starting, it’s clear that both leagues have some strong front-runners-namely, the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League and the Detroit Tigers in the American League. Still, as Rodriguez, Jeter, and Ortiz shared their picks, it became apparent that no outcome is set in stone as teams look to make their moves before the trade deadline.

Rodriguez wasted no time offering his World Series prediction, boldly siding with his former team, the New York Yankees. He predicted that the Yankees would defeat the defending champion Dodgers to claim their 28th World Series title.

This wasn’t a decision made out of sentiment; Rodriguez highlighted the Yankees’ strong roster and financial resources, pointing to general manager Brian Cashman’s potential to make impactful moves at the trade deadline.

“Whatever GM, there’s going to be a competition of the best front office that makes the boldest moves at the trade deadline,” Rodriguez said, emphasizing the Yankees’ advantage.

At the time of the All-Star break, the Yankees were in second place in the AL East, behind the Toronto Blue Jays. While they faced some challenges, including a rough 8-18 stretch recently, Rodriguez’s prediction underlined his belief in the Yankees’ ability to regroup and make a deep playoff run.

This confidence in the Yankees comes as they look to overcome their struggles and get back into championship contention.

The Dodgers’ dominance and strength

On the other side, Rodriguez also spoke highly of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the reigning World Series champions. The Dodgers, currently leading the NL West, have a proven track record of success in recent seasons, with stars like Freddie Freeman and potential MVP Shohei Ohtani, who could join the team in a high-profile trade.

Rodriguez compared the Dodgers’ dominance in the National League to the Yankees’ own reign during their “Evil Empire” days, noting their deep roster and consistent performance.

The road ahead for both teams

As the MLB season continues, both the Yankees and Dodgers are expected to make some significant moves, particularly as the trade deadline approaches. The competition will be fierce, but if Rodriguez’s prediction is correct, it will lead to one of the most thrilling World Series matchups in recent memory-a Yankees vs. Dodgers showdown that could captivate baseball fans around the world.

While both teams face challenges, their combination of resources, talent, and front-office expertise makes them clear favorites in their respective leagues. All eyes will be on the Yankees and Dodgers to see if they can meet the high expectations set for them in 2025.
