A’ja Wilson does not hold back and slams WNBA rivals and referees after an historic performance

Right after finishing an important game, Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson not only shone on the court but also made news off it. She hit out at her WNBA foes and referees in a hot talk that is now all over the news.

Wilson is the first in WNBA history to get a 30-point, 20-rebound game, ending with 32 points and 20 boards in the Aces’ 94-86 win against the Connecticut Sun. This came just two days after she scored 29 points on her 29th birthday in a win over the Seattle Storm, marking a top season for her.

But her words after the game stirred up talk even more.

Yeah, the main thing was to hit back hard. That’s kind of how this game’s going right now. It’s like, who’s going to push more? And the pusher sometimes wins. We had to make sure we weren’t just going to take hits all night

Another complain against the WNBA

Wilson’s words seemed to call out both the Sun’s tough play and the calls that let it go without consequences. Her upset and disappointment shows a wider worry among players about the league’s rough play and uneven rule calls.

The Connecticut Sun, now 5-25, have lost four in a row to the Aces. Once seen as a playoff hope, the Sun’s fall shows the big gap between top teams and those trying hard to keep up.

A’ja’s performances speak for themselves

Wilson’s top play has been a key part of this season. Her skill to pull off huge games while openly talking about the league’s issues has made her a key name in professional basketball.

As the WNBA moves into the last part of the regular season, Wilson’s voice, alongside her play, are driving the story. Whether she is setting new records or speaking out, one thing is sure: A’ja Wilson is ready to lead in her own way.

An ongoing tension between players and directors

There are many WNBA players that have been critizising the way the league manages these certain issues. Many of them think that the referees could be better or, at least, modify the way they perform, as nearly nobody is happy with their decisions.

Even Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have spoken about this. They also suggest that the referees and WNBA directors must change their approach to solving issues. It seems that the league does the thing without considering how it affects the main characters.

This ongoing problem could cause major issues in the future. The bad environment that currently is around the refs and directors will explode at some point, so it better change for the benefit of the sport.
