A’ja Wilson doesn’t miss a beat, on or off the court. The three-time WNBA MVP was involved in a rather embarrassing pre-game incident.
After losing a bet with teammate Kiah Stokes, she had to wear a UConn Huskies jersey, a reference to her alma mater, the South Carolina Gamecocks, losing to UConn in the college finals.
The Las Vegas Aces player, who is known for cherishing key moments and has a close relationship with NBA star Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, honored the wager, showing her competitive and loyal character, because you have to have the guts to keep your word, and Wilson did it her way.

A’ja wore a UConn jersey and eye-catching blue and red striped overalls, complemented by white Nike sneakers and a Louis Vuitton bag. Her elegant style shone through despite losing the bet, but the comments section of the WNBA post on Threads is a gem.
Adebayo couldn’t hide her laughter and even chimed in with a comment on the post.
“Striped jumpsuits are crazy,” the Miami Heat player wrote.
A’ja responds in style
The Las Vegas Aces player, who has two Olympic gold medals and a national title in her trophy case, quickly and without hesitation responded to her alleged boyfriend’s comment.
“It’s crazy how people aren’t even on this app, but they’re always here writing… I ate those jumpsuits!”
The truth is, they both took it in stride. A’ja will have to think twice about betting, lest she end up in a rather embarrassing situation, knowing her roots. It must have hurt her pride, but I am sure she had a great time with all the attention she got.
Although everyone thinks and assumes that Bam and Wilson are a couple, they keep it quiet and don’t talk about it. Some respect their privacy, but others take the opportunity to snap a photo when they see the couple on the street. We’ll see if they come out publicly in the future to put an end to the speculation.
