After becoming a starter, Jaxson Dart already has another million-dollar target that the Giants will have to pay for

Jaxson Dart is already thinking of ways to spend the millions of dollars he will make with the New York Giants, just days after bagging their first win of the 2025/26 NFL season after replacing the Super Bowl-winning Russell Wilson.

Dart stepped in during Week 4 and secured his first career victory, defeating the previously undefeated Los Angeles Chargers 21-18 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, September 28.

His rise was swift but deliberate. Selected 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after the Giants traded multiple picks to move back into the first round, the Ole Miss product signed a four-year rookie contract worth $16,977,927.

Always viewed as the long-term option for the side still properly looking to replace Eli Manning, the deal represents a strong start. But the 22-year-old has his sights set on a far larger payday.

A big payday to fulfil his property dreams

During his pre-draft process, he toured a $10 million penthouse in New York, a purchase he joked about as a potential “second contract” acquisition.

“Watch. You guys laugh. Watch when I buy this sh*t,” Dart said with a smile, referring to his future unrestricted NFL deal, which allow players to earn significantly more than rookie-scale contracts.

The confidence in reaching that level signals his belief in long-term success in the league, though he has only played one professional game.

In his first start, Dart completed 13-of-20 passes for 111 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions, averaging 5.6 yards per attempt. He also showcased mobility, rushing 10 times for 54 yards and scoring the opening touchdown.

Despite these early signs of promise, Dart faces immediate challenges with the loss of his top receiving target.

Malik Nabers injury: Recovery timeline for New York Giants star

Nabers suffered a torn ACL in the Week 4 victory over the Chargers as the MetLife surface claims another victim, eliminating the rookie’s primary weapon for the remainder of the 2025/26 NFL season.

Nabers, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had already demonstrated elite production, tallying 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season.

“Injuries happen,” head coach Brian Daboll said. “Certainly not happy about, whether it was Malik [Nabers] or anybody else. Unfortunately this is a business of injury.

“I feel terrible for Malik’s injury. We’ll see where it’s at. He’s an important piece of our team, but the guys that played behind him, just like last year when Slayton went in.

“Everybody gets paid to do a job and next man up.”

Despite the setback, the outlook for Nabers’ recovery is positive. Since the injury occurred early in the season, he is expected to be fully healthy in time for the 2026 NFL season opener next September.
