Adrian Peterson got into a fistfight with a poker player just a few months after being arrested

Adrian Peterson, who used to shine with the Minnesota Vikings, was involved in a fistfight with a poker player.

The incident occurred on May 27 at the JokerStars social club in Houston, Texas. Although the incident occurred a few days ago, TMZ Sports was able to access videos showing him arguing with a friend over a disagreement they had at the table and then hitting each other.

The former NFL star was the first to be hit, but then he was the one who started throwing punches. According to the media outlet, Peterson commented that “one thing led to another” and they ended up in a physical altercation, even after a man tried to separate them.

He also confessed that, although alcohol was involved, it was not the main reason for the fight.

After the fight, both were visibly injured from their blows, although Adrian said that his cut was due to the blow he suffered when he fell off his chair and not from a punch.

Peterson also stated that the person he argued with is someone he knows and that it was a spur-of-the-moment fight:

Me and the guy, we’re cool. We’ve known each other. It was literally like a brother situation. We agreed to disagree, we had our words, and we threw blows, and that was it.

Although the police were not called and they were not fined by the establishment, the former star running back said he felt “really bad” about what happened and that “It’s a situation where I kind of regret it.”

His fight comes after his arrest by the police

Almost two months ago, Peterson was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Minnesota as he was leaving the NFL draft party for Vikings fans.

Apparently, according to State Patrol Lt. Mike Lee’s comments to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Adrian was driving above the speed limit: he was going 83 mph in an 55 mph zone.

When he was stopped, his blood alcohol level was also above the legal limit: it was 0.14%, while the legal limit for driving in Minnesota is 0.08%. After posting $4,000 bail, he was released and charged with a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
