Adin Ross loses $25,000 betting on Jake Paul, gets brutally roasted by Terence Crawford

The fallout from Jake Paul’s first knockout loss continues to ripple far beyond the boxing ring. While the YouTuber-turned-fighter suffered a decisive defeat against former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, the financial sting was felt just as sharply by bettors who believed in a miracle. One of them was popular streamer Adin Ross, and his gamble quickly became a punchline.

Ross reportedly placed a $25,000 bet on Jake Paul to upset Joshua, trusting in Paul’s growing boxing profile and massive star power. Instead, Paul was stopped, handing Ross a costly loss and providing unexpected entertainment for boxing purists. None enjoyed the moment more than undefeated pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford.

Everybody in the world that knows boxing knows if it wasn’t scripted that he was getting knocked out.

Terence Crawford roasts Adin Ross over Jake Paul bet

Crawford joined Ross on a livestream shortly after the fight, and the tone shifted quickly once the topic of betting came up. When Ross asked whether Paul’s team had contacted Crawford about potentially fighting Joshua, after other rumored matchups fell through, the Nebraska native confirmed there had been discussions. But that’s where the seriousness ended.

Asked to break down the fight, Crawford didn’t mince words. “We all knew how that was going to end,” he said, echoing the view held by most experienced boxing fans. Ross pushed back, claiming Paul “won the first two rounds,” a statement that left Crawford visibly stunned. That’s when the gloves came off verbally.

Everybody who knows boxing knew what was coming.

Terence Crawford

Crawford shot back. He went even further, joking that the only way Paul survives that fight is “if it was scripted.” Once Ross admitted he’d put $25,000 on Paul, Crawford couldn’t believe it, suggesting that kind of money could’ve been put to much better use, including charity.

The moment instantly went viral, reinforcing the growing divide between hardcore boxing fans and casual bettors drawn in by celebrity hype.

Celebrity bets and the Jake Paul business

Ross wasn’t alone in chasing the upset. Reports indicate that rapper Drake lost roughly $200,000 betting on Paul as well. The pattern highlights a broader trend: casual fans, fueled by confidence and online buzz, flooding sportsbooks in hopes of landing massive underdog payouts.

Despite the losses, the event was a commercial juggernaut. The fight reportedly drew over 33 million viewers worldwide on Netflix, cementing Paul’s ability to command massive audiences regardless of the outcome.

While bettors walked away empty-handed, the spectacle once again proved that Jake Paul remains one of the most polarizing and profitable figures in modern boxing. And as Terence

Crawford’s sharp-tongued roast showed, believing in hype over fundamentals can be far more painful than any punch thrown in the ring.
