The Phoenix Mercury let victory slip through their fingers after A’ja Wilson sank her shot with 0.9 seconds left to give the Las Vegas Aces their third consecutive win in the playoff finals.

Although the Mercury came back from a 17-point deficit to tie the game 88-88 at the end of the game, the seven-time All-Star Game player shone as she broke two records.

A’ja dethrones WNBA star from two records

With a 3-0 record, the Aces are just one win away from the championship, putting Phoenix in a tight spot and forcing them to win Game 4 if they want to continue their fight for it.

Meanwhile, during Game 3, the 29-year-old center had a great performance that saw her surpass Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier.

With 34 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists in 38 minutes, A’ja has already accumulated 291 points and 50 plays in the 2025 postseason, surpassing the numbers set by Collier last year.

In this way, the four-time MVP dethroned Phee as the player with the most points and the most actions (steals and blocks) in a single playoff run. Collier has 285 points and 48 assists.

With at least one more game left in the Finals, the Aces star could further increase her lead over Napheesa, as she has averaged 27.7 points and 12.7 rebounds in the last three games and is in her ninth game with 30 points in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Game 4 will be played this Friday, again at PHX Arena, where both teams will fight for a much-needed victory that will allow the Mercury to continue their playoff run or finally crown the Aces and Wilson as this year’s champions.
