Abdul Carter’s move revealed that could change the entire NFL Draft destiny

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, one name stands out among top defensive prospects: Abdul Carter, the All-American defensive end from Penn State. With his impressive performance in college, Carter has solidified himself as one of the top contenders for a top-3 pick.

Recently, he had breakfast with New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll in State College, signaling a strong interest from the team. The Giants, who hold the third pick in the draft, have expressed their interest in Carter, and a visit to their facility this week will only add to the buzz.

A dominating presence on the field

Carter’s college career has been nothing short of remarkable. Last season, he led the nation with 23.5 tackles for loss in his first year as a defensive end, proving that he’s a game-changing force on the field. NFL analysts are impressed with his ability to disrupt plays, and his reputation for making crucial stops in key moments has made him a standout. NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger commented on Carter’s ability to dominate against blockers, saying, “If you don’t gameplan for him, you’re in trouble.”

No workout needed for Carter

While Carter didn’t participate in the NFL Scouting Combine or Penn State’s Pro Day, his reputation alone speaks volumes. Despite a shoulder injury from the Fiesta Bowl and a foot issue diagnosed at the combine, Carter remains confident. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has reassured NFL teams that the injuries won’t affect his draft position. “They obviously know what I can do on the field,” Carter said, demonstrating his readiness for the next level.

The future of Penn State football

Carter’s potential draft position could make him the highest-drafted defensive player from Penn State since Courtney Brown and LaVar Arrington, who were selected first and second overall in the 2000 NFL Draft. His combination of strength, speed, and intelligence has NFL teams eagerly waiting to see how he transitions into the professional league.

“I step up when I’m needed the most,” Carter said, emphasizing his ability to deliver in clutch situations. Whether he’s making plays or freeing up teammates, Carter is primed to make an immediate impact in the NFL. As he nears draft day, all eyes will be on where this defensive powerhouse land.
