Week 7 of the NFL season was played, with the Steelers losing to the Bengals 33-31 in agonizing fashion. Even in the loss, Aaron Rodgers played formidable, and his teammates were grateful for it. However, the QB1 had a disagreement with one of them and issued a “threat” in front of the media. All of this in the run-up to Rodgers’ reunion with the Green Bay Packers, whom Pittsburgh will host on Sunday, October 26.
In a truly crazy game, the Bengals defeated the Steelers in a last-second AFC North divisional duel. Cincinnati kicked a field goal to make it 33-31, defeating one of their bitter rivals and snapping Pittsburgh’s winning streak. Special mention to Joe Flacco in his first game wearing the Bengals colors after arriving from the Cleveland Browns.
Broderick Jones knocks down Aaron Rodgers and will have to “watch his back”
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was knocked down by left tackle Broderick Jones as the two celebrated a 68-yard touchdown pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth. Jones jumped on Rodgers’ back, sending them tumbling downfield. Rodgers, naturally, wasn’t happy with him and shoved him hard as the two stood up.
I told him I’d catch him next, he’d better watch his back
Rodgers was asked about that exchange. “What you don’t see on the video is that right afterward, he comes up to me and shakes me and shakes me. I texted him and said, ‘Hey, I love your energy. But also, I’m 41 years old. You can’t be out there tackling me.’ I love Broderick. We laughed a couple of times about it,” Rodgers said. “I told him I’d catch him next, he’d better watch his back.“
Aaron Rodgers admits he has no harassment about the Packers
Rodgers finished the night completing 23 of 34 passes for 249 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. The star is now in his 21st season in the league. He will face the Green Bay Packers next Sunday at Arcisure Stadium in what will be his first game against the team that drafted him with the 24th overall pick more than two decades ago.
“I don’t have any animosity toward the organization,” he said, via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “Obviously, I wish things had been better our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people who are still in that organization, and this isn’t a revenge game for me. I’m excited to see some of those guys and be on ‘Sunday Night Football‘ again.”
