When an elite quarterback hits the free agency market, teams generally line up to splash any cash they have available to get them. That’s especially true when it’s a legendary quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. Although Rodgers’ resume speaks for itself, so does his age and his disastrous New York Jets stint.
That has some teams wary about bringing him in. There are are still some strong suitors, though, and it appears we are down to three: the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings. The latter would be surprising given they just let the much-younger Sam Darnold go, plus Rodgers would have to play against his former team, the Green Bay Packers, twice. The Steelers may make the most sense, but Rodgers is taking his sweet time to make a decision.
Cam Heyward doesn’t feel like waiting around for Aaron Rodgers’ decision
And that’s not exactly sitting well with arguably the most important player on the Steelers, Cam Heyward. The 14-year veteran, who has spent his whole NFL career in Pittsburgh, was recently asked about potentially recruiting Rodgers. It’s safe to say he’s not about it.

If you want me to recruit, that’s the recruiting pitch. Pittsburgh Steelers: if you want to be part of it, so be it. If you don’t, no skin off my back.
Heyward knows how to keep it real, and he doesn’t have time for any shenanigans. The soon-to-be-36-year-old defensive tackle wants a ring before he retires. Rodgers may be the best option to get him there, but it doesn’t sound like Heyward is too concerned about whether he joins or not.
