It looks as though Aaron Rodgers has been keeping himself busy with an unexpected venture as he continues to weigh up his next destination in the NFL.
The 41-year-old is still a free agent after spending the last two seasons with the New York Jets. His short time in the Big Apple didn’t go to plan, as his first season was derailed by injury and the Jets struggled to a 5-12 record last campaign.
As a result the Jets released Rodgers, allowing him to choose his next team as a free agent. He is certainly taking his time in making a decision, as while other big name players have found their new homes, Rodgers continues to weigh his options.
Rodgers helping out aspiring golfers
In the meantime, Rodgers has been keeping himself busy by helping aspiring professional golfers continue their careers.
That’s according to Ryan French, who runs the page ‘Monday Q Info’ . Throughout his years on the social media platform, he has raised money for young and struggling golfers and then sending it to them directly.
In a recent interview with the GOLF Subpar podcast, French said that one of his biggest donors in recent years has been the four-time NFL MVP winner Rodgers.
“Aaron has been super good behind the scenes to me,” said French, who says he met Rodgers after he saw an account under the Super Bowl winner’s name appear on a livestream he was hosting for a golf tournament.
At first French assumed it was a fake account, but “then, maybe a couple of weeks later, he messaged me. I was like, what the hell is happening?”
From there the two formed a friendship, and French says Rodgers has regularly reached out and donated money since then.
“He’s been super nice,” French said. “He wants to keep this on the down low, so now I’m going to tell it on the pod. I’ve tried my best to help players, or if they get their car stolen or need money, whatever, and he’ll just message me and be like, ‘Hey, is this a good dude or a good player?’
“And I’d be like, yeah. And he would either Venmo me money and I then would Venmo the player or he would do it anonymously on GoFundMe.”
Rodgers is known to be a big golf fan. He won the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am which sees celebrities and other athletes competing.
