The recognition comes after an outstanding 2024 season, where he was the MVP and a key player for the Yankees to return to the World Series for the first time since 2009.

On the other hand, it is striking the total absence of NHL players from both the Rangers and the Islanders, two historic teams that are going through prolonged periods without titles. While the Islanders have not won a Stanley Cup since 1983, the Rangers have not lifted the trophy since 1994.
