Aaron Judge doesn’t forget Juan Soto and sends a message while the All-Star Game is celebrated without him

The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is being celebrated with great figures on the diamond, but one notable absence has generated conversation: that of Juan Soto, who was not selected for the National League team despite an outstanding first half of the season

One of the first to react was his former Yankees teammate, Aaron Judge, who did not hesitate to send him a message of support and recognition.

A friendship forged in the Bronx

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto shared a locker room with the Yankees during the 2024 season, a campaign in which both players shone. Judge was named the American League MVP, while Soto finished third in the voting. Together, they helped lead the Yankees to their first World Series since 2009, although they fell to the Dodgers in five games.

Despite being teammates for just one season, the connection between the two was deep. Judge recently said:

We definitely miss him. Juan was not only a great player, but also a great person in the clubhouse. It was a pleasure to have him with us.

A message with class and respect

During the All-Star Game week, Judge was asked about Soto’s absence from the event. His response was clear and elegant:

I know the Mets are enjoying him over there. We really enjoyed having him with the Yankees. I wish him the best.

These words not only reflect Judge’s respect for Soto as a player, but also the personal appreciation he developed for him off the field. In a sport where rivalries are often intense, this type of gesture between stars from different teams does not go unnoticed.

An unfair omission for Juan Soto?

Juan Soto’s absence from the All-Star Game has been one of the most talked about. Despite having solid statistics, a .264 average, 21 home runs, 51 RBIs and a .904 OPS, he was not included on the National League roster. This has drawn criticism from fans and analysts, especially considering that several of his teammates on the Mets, such as Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso, were selected.

According to OptaStats, Soto became the first player in MLB history to record at least 20 home runs, 70 walks, 15 doubles and 10 stolen bases before the All-Star break without being called up.

Judge, a leader on and off the field

Aaron Judge, who was named captain of the American League team, has had an impressive season. He leads MLB with a .360 batting average, 33 home runs and 70 RBIs, as well as a 1.202 OPS. His leadership is reflected not only in his numbers, but also in his attitude towards his teammates and opponents.

The gesture towards Soto is another sign of his maturity and the respect he has earned throughout the league. At a time when social media amplifies every statement, Judge opted for a positive and constructive message.

A reunion in October?

Both the Yankees and the Mets are having competitive seasons. The Yankees are 53-43, just two games out of the lead in the American League East. Meanwhile, the Mets are half a game behind the Phillies in the National League.

If both teams keep up the pace, it would not be far-fetched to imagine a possible reunion between Judge and Soto in a hypothetical World Series. It would be an emotional and sporting rematch, with two of the best hitters in baseball facing off on the biggest stage.
