Aaron Judge dismisses Yankees missing Juan Soto ahead of return to the Bronx

Juan Soto’s first encounter as a New York Mets player against the New York Yankees will take place on Friday in a Subway Series that will have all MLB fans in the Big Apple paralyzed

A hostile reception is expected from Bronx Bombers fans who felt betrayed by the Dominican outfielder’s choice to play for their arch-rivals, and this weekend will be intense.

Regarding this, the Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, did not evade the importance of Juan Soto and recognized the mark that Soto left in the only season in which he played in the Bronx.

“It was definitely a guy like Juan Soto, who gives you 40 home runs, hits close to 300. You know, drives in 100 runs and comes in a guy; it’s hard to replicate that,” Judge said diplomatically when questioned by Yes Network.

Judge doesn’t miss Soto

Although Aaron Judge values Juan Soto‘s numbers in 2024, in his opinion, this year’s additions to the Yankees have contributed to a powerful offense that has them as division leaders and contenders to conquer the American League to return to the World Series.

“We had the opportunity to bring in Goldie (Paul Goldschmidt), we brought in Bellinger. To see what Trent (Grisham) has been able to do playing every day has been huge. I think we just rely on each other. If I don’t get the job done, I know Goldie and Billy behind me will, or Trent might open the game with a home run, which kind of relaxes everyone. So it works,” said ‘The Judge’.

After a slow start, Juan Soto‘s numbers have improved and he will return to Yankee Stadium on Friday with a .255 batting average, four home runs, 20 RBIs and an .845 OPS, with the Mets atop the National League East with a 28-16 record.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge is a monster with a .412 average, 15 home runs, 41 RBIs and a 1.279 OPS, although collectively, the Yankees have a lower record than their rival, at 25-18, however, it is enough for them to lead the American League East.
