Aaron Judge blasts Aaron Boone, making him look foolish later on in the middle of a fight that could end very badly for the Yankees

The New York Yankees have gained enough ground in their fight to advance to the MLB playoffs, though the team that reached the World Series last season is far from the rollercoaster performance they’re showing this year. Now, it seems the team’s star is “contradicting” his manager, which could become another storyline to follow.

Aaron Boone has had to backtrack on his premature update regarding Aaron Judge‘s injury, but not before the organization’s most important player refuted everything his manager said, leaving him in an awkward position.

Aaron Judge puts Aaron Boone in check

This Tuesday, the Yankees manager spoke on WFAN, stating that the superstar’s arm might remain compromised for the rest of the season due to the elbow injury in his right arm.

“I don’t think we’re going to see him back to throwing like he normally does at any point this year, but that’s OK, too,” Boone commented. “We’ve got to feel like he can go out there and be able to protect himself and represent himself.”

The two-time American League MVP later contradicted him, saying, “I don’t know why he said that. He hasn’t seen me throw for the past two weeks, so I’m pretty confident I’ll get back to [100 percent].”

Boone ultimately had to clarify, stating, “Maybe I overstated that.”

Aaron Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 27 due to a flexor strain, after initially getting injured on July 22. Fortunately for the Yankees, there was no damage to the slugger’s ulnar collateral ligament, allowing the 33-year-old to avoid Tommy John surgery.

On August 5, Judge returned to New York’s lineup, but since then, he has played solely as a designated hitter. However, the injury has overshadowed what was shaping up to be another incredible season for Judge, who continues to lead several statistical categories and is in contention for his third MVP award.
