Aaron Boone accumulates another ‘enemy’: Former Yankees player accuses him of making things up after Aaron Judge’s blunt clarification

“I don’t think we’re going to see him [Aaron Judge] throwing like he normally does at any point this year, but that’s okay,” were the words of New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone that opened Pandora’s box within the New York team.

The captain, Aaron Judge, in an interview clarified the situation with a response that shows the cracks that are forming internally: “He hasn’t seen me throw in the last two weeks. I’m pretty sure I’ll do it again,” he said.

Clint Frazier’s response

In the face of this situation, former Yankee player Clint Frazier, who played for the institution between 2017 and 2021, did not remain silent and responded with a very direct message: “To some extent, it backs up my comments when I said they’re just making things up when it comes to these injuries.”

This is in reference to the fact that Judge was allegedly included on the ‘Phantom Injured List’, a situation that is repeated after they were accused (the Yankees) by the fans, of leaving Marcus Strotman in the same position in April this year. For those who don’t know, the “Phantom Injured List” is used when a team places a player on the injured list for a vague and unspecified problem. This practice also violates league policies.

Boone won’t risk putting Judge in the outfield

While there is still no clear timetable as to when Aaron Judge will return to right field, the hitter has been progressing with his throwing program. For example, he extended it to 45 meters last weekend in St. Louis, but will likely have to push it even further with longer, more powerful throws before being medically cleared to take the field.

This suggests that although Judge is technically ready to return, fans will have to get used to seeing him play defensive roles for a while longer.
