Many fans believed that Drake Maye was about to kick off another dynasty in the NFL, but reality proved otherwise as the minutes ticked by in Super Bowl LX, where he may have played the worst game of his young career against a ferocious Seattle Seahawks defense.

Throughout the entire contest, Seattle’s defense made it crystal clear that they weren’t going to let him think. You only need to watch each play that made up his highlights-and especially how he was captured on camera at the end-to see it.

Drake Maye devastated after Super Bowl loss

A Sports Illustrated video showed the New England Patriots quarterback looking utterly devastated as he walked toward the locker room after a game that confirmed there is still a tremendous amount of work ahead. In total, Maye was sacked six times, including one strip-sack that resulted in a defensive touchdown for Seattle.

In the end, the old saying held true: defense wins championships.

At first glance, the young quarterback looked in rough shape-and understandably so. Super Bowl LX was the most important game of his short professional career, which so far consists of just two NFL seasons.

It will be crucial to see how Drake Maye recovers from this tough chapter-with the guidance of head coach Mike Vrabel-to prevent an emotional slump that could hinder his development as a top NFL quarterback. This season, Maye had even been the favorite to win the MVP award he ultimately lost, proving his potential as one of the league’s rising stars.
