A treatment in London and a plan with Arbeloa allow Rudiger to reach 100% at the decisive stage

Antonio Rüdiger has found the solution to his physical problems in London. In the hands of a specialist who designed a specific medical and physical treatment for him, the German centre-back has managed to leave his knee pains behind. A plan based on injections and detailed work that has worked perfectly and allows him to reach the decisive stage of the season at 100 percent. Rüdiger has managed to feel as he did two years ago: without knee discomfort and with the feeling of being able to compete at the highest level every three days.

It all started last season. After the Copa del Rey final in April, Rüdiger had to undergo surgery to solve his meniscus problems. The operation seemed to be the starting point for a normal recovery, but the schedule and the accumulation of matches pushed him to force himself too early.

The German centre-back reappeared without having completed an ideal preparation. He even made an extra effort to be at the Club World Cup in the United States in Xabi Alonso’s debut, pulling the team. It took its toll, but he did not stop. The 2025/26 season started with the same pressure and almost without pre-season he started to compete despite the fact that the player noticed that he was going just right. Even so, Rüdiger continued to accumulate minutes at the start of the season until a muscle injury left him out of action for two months.

The team’s situation did not help either and the German again accelerated the timetable to return ahead of schedule. This decision had consequences: the pain in his knee reappeared with a vengeance. The sensations were getting worse and worse, until it became an almost paralysing pain.

The turning point came on January 8 this year. After the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid, Rudiger decided to stop definitively. He could not play in the final against Barcelona and assumed that it was time to find a definitive solution.

Visit to London

The solution was found in London, in the hands of a specialist who designed a specific treatment for his knee. The plan included injections and very controlled physical work with his personal team. Under the constant supervision of the London doctor, Rudiger gradually regained sensation, strengthened the area and, above all, left the pain behind. The result has come in recent weeks. Rüdiger returned to the pitch on 14 February against Real Sociedad, and has done so feeling in perfect condition. In addition, his return has coincided with a total harmony with the new Real Madrid coach, Alvaro Arbeloa.

Arbeloa considers him the head of the defense and knows that his figure is capital for the team. That is why the two have established a very close relationship based on trust and planning. They have agreed on rest periods, rotations and careful management of workloads. The coach has respected at all times the decisions of Rüdiger and his medical team.

As in the 23/24 season

Thanks to this control, the German centre-back can now compete without pain. He feels physically liberated and is once again showing the level he offered in the 2022/23 season, when he was considered one of the best centre-backs in the world and a key player in winning the Champions League. Against Celta and City, he exceeded 31 kilometres per hour in maximum speed, a sign that he can now play at his best. Erling Haaland can attest to that.

Rüdiger is convinced that his physical problems are behind him. He feels ready to play Wednesday and Sunday for 90 minutes if the team needs him. Even so, coordination with Arbeloa will remain constant to adjust rest, rotations and specific treatments when necessary.

But the best news for Real Madrid and for the German national team three months before the World Cup is clear: Antonio Rudiger is back to 100%. And he has achieved this thanks to a specific treatment in London, patient work and intelligent management of his return to competition.
