Adrian Stubbs, a guard from Maryvale (Phoenix), scored 100 points in just three quarters in the 109-25 victory over Yuma

The high school player, who averaged 23 points per game, scored 70 points in the first half and 30 in the third quarter.

To score 100 points, Adrian Stubbs hit six three-pointers and made 16 of 23 free throws.

“I think I had 35 points at the end of the first quarter and my coach gave me the green light. It was probably the most generous game (from my teammates) I’ve ever seen in my life. Without them, this wouldn’t be possible. All those passes. All the steals. It’s a great recognition for them,” said the centurion after the game.

Stubbs’ highest score up to that point was 56 points in a game.

“One of his individual goals was to break the competition record of 57 points set by Nico Mannion”

“This kid never ceases to amaze me. His will to win, his fight and his determination are second to none. A lot of people support him and want the best for him. He’s a passionate player. Before the season started, we had team goals. And also individual goals. One of his individual goals was to break the competition record of 57 points set by Nico Mannion (an international with Italy and now with Olimpia Milano),” Maryvale coach Jeremy Smith told The Arizona Republic.
