A low blow from Giants star Jaxson Dart to Fernando Mendoza – and Arch Manning as well

Since the 2011 season, when the New York Giants stole the spotlight during a spectacular postseason run and were crowned Super Bowl champions after defeating Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in Indianapolis, the franchise has endured many disappointing years. They have reached the playoffs only twice since then: in 2016 and in 2022.

In fact, they have recorded just one playoff victory. That came during Brian Daboll’s first season as head coach, when the Giants defeated the Minnesota Vikings before being crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time, the team was led by Daniel Jones. The following seasons, however, were disastrous: 2023 was a failure, 2024 was no better, and now, with three weeks remaining in the season, the Giants hold the worst record in the NFL.

Despite all of this, there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel: Jaxson Dart. The quarterback was selected in the first round of the most recent NFL Draft after a trade between the Giants and the Houston Texans. The former Ole Miss signal-caller has made an immediate impact and has all the tools to become an NFL star.

Jaxson Dart would be QB1 in the next Draft

Leading up to the most recent Draft, the highest-rated quarterback was Cam Ward, who was ultimately selected by the Tennessee Titans. However, despite being taken first overall, the University of Miami product has struggled to find his footing. The second-best prospect was Shedeur Sanders, who surprisingly fell all the way to the fifth round.

The third quarterback with the highest projection was Jaxson Dart, though many analysts viewed him as a second- or third-round talent. The Giants, however, made an aggressive move to select him in the second round – a decision that has clearly paid off. Despite his risky playing style and the hits he absorbs, Dart has become the biggest source of hope for Giants fans.

ESPN analyst Jordan Rodgers stated that if Jaxson Dart were eligible for the upcoming Draft, he would be the first quarterback selected, ahead of Fernando Mendoza, who is currently the top-rated prospect and a leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy. Aaron Rodgers’ brother also mentioned that Dart has everything needed to become the next Josh Allen.

Comparing Jaxson Dart to Josh Allen brings immense pressure, especially considering that Allen is the reigning NFL MVP. Additionally, Allen has never missed a game with the Bills since becoming the starter, while Dart, in just his rookie season, has already missed a couple of games due to a severe concussion.
