A former NFL player called out Shedeur Sanders – the problems aren’t over for the Cleveland Browns quarterback

There’s no doubt that Shedeur Sanders is currently the most talked-about player in the NFL – and he hasn’t even played a single snap yet. In fact, it’s not even certain that he’ll play this year at all, especially considering that right now, he’s the fourth-string quarterback on the Cleveland Browns’ depth chart, behind Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

Shedeur Sanders is a controversial figure, largely because of the attention that surrounds him – especially due to being the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders. The quarterback’s behavior tends to overshadow his talent, even though the truth is, he does have it. In his final college season at the University of Colorado, he threw 37 touchdown passes, which is why he was once projected as a first-round pick.

However, due to concerns over all the distractions that come with Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback ended up slipping all the way to the fifth round, when the Cleveland Browns took a chance on him. Shedeur’s future is now entirely uncertain.

Former NFL player criticizes Shedeur Sanders

Sanders had earned a bit of respect for his performance during OTAs and the Browns’ minicamp – even though he didn’t get any reps with the first team. But it seems all of that progress has now gone to waste.

This month, the quarterback received two speeding tickets and also failed to appear in court for one of the hearings. His critics wasted no time, including former NFL playerCC, who didn’t hold back on his podcast.

“Last week, when the first speeding ticket came out, I said it wasn’t a big deal. But now I see it very differently,” Tucker said on his podcast. “What’s the logic or mindset of getting a speeding ticket and then, less than two weeks later, driving over 100 miles per hour?”

Tucker also pointed out that teams who passed on Sanders in the draft might now be feeling relieved with their decision after seeing the quarterback’s recent behavior.

“I don’t know if it’s entitlement or immaturity. But there have to be teams right now that feel good about not drafting him,” Tucker added. “I can’t even process it. You get pulled over for speeding, you don’t show up to court – and then you’re caught going over 100 miles per hour less than two weeks later?”

There’s no doubt that this legal issue has set Shedeur back significantly. And because of this situation, it’s very likely that head coach Kevin Stefanski will now think twice before giving him any chances with the first team.
