The start of April marks a special time in the world of golf. The Masters Tournament – an annual fixture in the golfing calendar, one of the four major championships in men’s golf and the most prestigious golf tournament there is – will take place at Augusta National in Georgia this weekend.
Last year, fans were treated to a truly climactic finish. Rory McIlroy, who had flirted with winning the Masters on plenty of occasions, held on and beat a surging Justin Rose in a playoff. McIlroy will now hope to become only fourth golfer to win back-to-back Masters. Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods are the three who can say they’ve done that.
Scottie Scheffler the favorite over Rory McIlroy and others for 2026 Masters Tournament
McIlroy will have stiff competition, though, and he’s not the favorite. According to Draftkings Sportsbook, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite a day before the tournament begins. McIlroy isn’t far behind, coming in with the fourth-best odds. Cameron Young, who won the 2026 Players Championship last month, is in the Top 10.
- Scottie Scheffler: +510
- Jon Rahm: +900
- Bryson DeChambeau: +1050
- Rory McIlroy: +1175
- Ludvig Aberg: +1650
- Xander Schauffele: +1750
- Cameron Young: +2200
- Tommy Fleetwood: +2250
- Matt Fitzpatrick: +2300
- Hideki Matsuyama: +2700
Scheffler has finished outside the Top 10 in each of his last three tournaments, but he was on an absolutely torrid stretch towards the latter half of 2025 and early in 2026, which included several wins. He also has plenty of experience and success at Augusta National, having won it twice – in 2022 and 2024.
