Taylor Fritz isn’t only trying to make history on the court during the 2026 US Open. The American tennis player is also entering a new chapter in his personal life after beginning a relationship with Olivia Jade Giannulli.
The romance began to gain momentum just months after Fritz ended his relationship with Morgan Riddle in April, following nearly six years together. By May, Fritz and Olivia Jade had already been spotted together in Los Angeles, and as the summer went on, their appearances together made it increasingly difficult to ignore the rumors surrounding their relationship.
Who is Olivia Jade and why was she already famous?
Before becoming Taylor Fritz’s new romantic interest, Olivia Jade Giannulli had already made a name for herself in the world of social media. Born in Los Angeles on September 28, 1999, she became known as a beauty, fashion and lifestyle content creator, particularly through YouTube and Instagram, where she amassed more than one million followers.
Her story is also connected to two well-known Hollywood figures: she is the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin, best known for playing Aunt Becky on Full House, and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli. Over the years, Olivia turned her digital presence into a career of her own and also entered the business world with her beauty brand o.piccola.
But if her name eventually became known far beyond social media, it was for a very different reason.
The scandal that completely changed her career
In 2019, Olivia Jade became caught up in the Varsity Blues scandal, which involved bribes to secure students’ admission to U.S. universities. Her parents were accused of paying $500,000 to get Olivia and her sister admitted to the University of Southern California (USC), using, among other things, false information about their supposed rowing athletic profiles.
The case had major consequences for the entire family. Her parents pleaded guilty and served federal prison sentences, while Olivia lost brand deals and saw her career as an influencer come to an almost complete halt.
However, over the years, she began rebuilding her public presence. In 2021, she competed on Dancing with the Stars, where she finished in eighth place, and later resumed her work as a content creator, eventually rebuilding her career.
And what about Taylor? How is he doing?
While his love life is changing, Fritz is facing one of the most important moments of his career. The American currently sits at No. 10 in the world and already knows what it feels like to come close to winning a Grand Slam: in 2024, he reached the US Open final, where he lost to Jannik Sinner.
That result made Fritz the first American man to reach a Grand Slam final since 2009 and raised expectations around him even further. Now, in New York, he once again has the opportunity to chase the title that is still missing from his career and that the United States has not won in the men’s singles event in more than two decades.
