Since 1947, Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, hosts the Little League World Series, competition with children between 10 and 12 years old, who begin to dream of one day being professional players. MLB names like Cody Bellinger, Jurickson Profar, Michael Conforto, Jonathan Schoop, Yohel Pozo, Gary Sheffield and more have participated in this tournament.

It is one of the favorite events of baseball fans, in which 20 teams from various regions of the United States and countries of the world are divided into two brackets, one international and the other from the American Union, until they meet in the final.

Winning countries of the Little League World Series

The United States is the country that dominates the Little League World Series winners’ table with 40 titles since 1947.

They conquered the tournament every year until 1957, when a team from Monterrey, Mexico defeated La Mesa, California, 4-0, to snatch the glory from the American representatives. A year later they became two-time champions, by beating the boys from Kankakee, Illinois, 10-1.

The American dominance is normal, but in second place is the 17 titles of Taiwan, followed by Japan with 11, while far behind are Mexico and South Korea with 3, Venezuela with 2 and Curacao with 1.

Among the local representatives, California stands out with eight, including the reigning champion El Segundo, which in 2023 defeated Willemstad, Curacao, 6-5 in the final. Next come Hawaii, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania with four titles.
