NFL insider Dianna Russini has resigned from The Athletic less than a week after a series of photos surfaced showing her with head coach Mike Vrabel at an Arizona resort.
No sign of Dianna Russini during all this time
The incident sparked an internal probe at the New York Times-owned sports outlet. Since then, Russini has remained silent, effectively “going dark” from the public eye. While Vrabel has already faced intense media scrutiny, Russini has yet to make a public appearance.
She did, however, deactivate her X (formerly Twitter) account as the controversy intensified; as of April 23, her profile no longer exists.
Vrabel first addressed the media on March 21, calling the situation a “personal matter” and stating he had held “difficult conversations” with those who matter most, including his family, the organization, his coaches, and his players.
Throughout the rising tension, Russini offered no comment. Days later, she announced she was seeking professional psychological help to navigate the situation and would be stepping away from NFL Draft coverage-a blow to the outlet given her key role in their draft reporting.
To date, Russini has made no public appearances. Beyond her resignation and social media blackout, the only certainty is that new details continue to emerge regarding a relationship that apparently extends far beyond a single trip to Arizona.
